    I. Important Notes on Leave and Class Rescheduling Applications:

    1. For class rescheduling and make-up classes, please fully discuss with students in advance and reach a consensus before proceeding. Instructors should clearly inform all enrolled students to safeguard their rights.
    2. For leave applications by adjunct faculty, please refer to the relevant regulations from the responsible offices:

    Log in with your university AD account to [eCare System] to proceed.

    Adjunct Faculty Leave Application:

    Please first contact the Personnel Office staff by phone at (05) 631-5268 to set up the attendance system.

    After setup by the Personnel Office, log in with your university AD account to the [Attendance System] to proceed.

    According to the Personnel Office, paper-based leave applications will no longer be accepted starting from February 1, 2024.

    Class Rescheduling / Make-up Class Application:

    Please refer to the announcement on the Teaching Affairs Division webpage for instructions.

    *According to the University Regulations on Faculty Appointment and Promotion:

    • Adjunct faculty members must have taught at this university at the same rank for a full two academic years (or four semesters). Only in the semester of reappointment may they apply to their respective department (office/center) for a teaching certificate using their academic degree (diploma). In the semester of submission for the teaching certificate, they must actually teach at least one credit.
    • Applicants for a teaching certificate must undergo external review of their publications, and the related review fees shall be borne by the adjunct faculty member. However, if the applicant has already undergone external review at the time of initial appointment for the same rank within the past six years, the review process may be waived.
    • The qualification review for adjunct faculty is limited to those under the age of 65. However, if the applicant has not yet reached the age of 65 at the beginning of the semester in which the application is submitted to the Ministry of Education, the case may be handled with flexibility.

    *Applicable subjects for adjunct faculty applying for the “Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate”:

    • Adjunct lecturers who have taught at this university for 4 semesters may apply for a Ministry of Education Lecturer Certificate in the 5th semester;
    • Adjunct assistant professors who have taught at this university for 4 semesters may apply for a Ministry of Education Assistant Professor Certificate in the 5th semester.
    • Adjunct faculty members cannot apply for Associate Professor/Professor certificates at this university.

    ※Note: For adjunct faculty appointed in or before Academic Year 2021, if they have not yet obtained a Ministry of Education certificate, external review must be conducted at the time of appointment. During the review process, they will temporarily teach as substitute instructors, and this period will not be counted toward seniority at that rank.

    Example: An adjunct faculty member newly appointed in 2019 (2nd semester) who has obtained a master's degree but not yet a lecturer certificate must undergo external review. In 2020 (1st semester), they obtain an adjunct lecturer appointment (effective from August 1). After teaching as an adjunct lecturer for 4 semesters, they may apply for a Ministry of Education Lecturer Certificate in the 1st semester of 2022.

    ※Note: If an adjunct lecturer obtains a doctoral degree and applies for appointment to a higher rank, and the starting date of the assistant professor appointment is after the beginning of the semester (August 1 / February 1), the semester count for applying for the Ministry of Education certificate will begin from the following semester.

    Example: After obtaining a doctoral degree, an adjunct lecturer undergoes review by three levels of faculty evaluation committees. The assistant professor appointment begins on October 30, 2022. Since the semester (Academic Year 2022, first semester) is not completed, the counting should start from the second semester of Academic Year 2022. Therefore, the application for the Ministry of Education Assistant Professor Certificate may be submitted in the 5th semester (second semester of Academic Year 2024).
